This course is for students who only need their air brake endorsement. The course covers all required in-class and practical hours by SGI. The written exam is required to be written through an SGI testing office.

About Air Brake
Overdrive offers the Air Brake Module as a stand-alone 1 Day course, with an additional day of practice time available if needed. This is for individuals who may need their A Endorsement to operate a single axle truck with air brakes, or an air brake equipped motorhome or recreational vehicle. This course also provides valuable information regarding farm trucks that utilize air brakes.
This course is taught as part of the MELT program. It has an in-class portion (6 ½ hrs), and an in-yard portion. We cover such things as
- Basic components of an air system
- Identify what the function of each component is
- How to check for proper brake adjustment
- How to set up the brakes
- How to maintain and trouble shoot the air brake system
- How to become proficient in the daily air pre-trip tests
Prerequisites
- At least 16 years of age
- The written air test must be completed before the practical air test exam
